For all those who say that the Catholic Church is doing all it can on clerical child sex abuse—namely the Vatican press office—there is yet another reason to doubt those lofty words. Meet the Archbishop of Lyon, Cardinal Philippe Barbarin, who has denied he did anything wrong by hiding the well-known fact that Father Bernard Preynat was sexually abusing as many as 40 Catholic Scouts in France in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Preynat was relieved of his duties in the parish of Roanne in 2015 after admitting to the sex abuse. He was indicted on Jan. 27 on charges of “sexual abuse and rape of minors” and has admitted his crimes to the police.

One killed and at least 13 injured in Tel Aviv stabbings
Three attacks by Palestinians in the space of just over an hour and a half left one dead and at least 13 injured across Israel on Tuesday evening, in incidents that including a mass stabbing in Jaffa during a visit to the coastal city by US vice-president Joe Biden.
Israeli police later confirmed that the person killed in Jaffa was a 29-year-old American tourist who was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in Holon. There were no details on the American’s identity.
Report: US, Iran huddled prior to Iraq War
The United States and Iran held confidential talks about the future of Iraq prior to the U.S.-led war in Iraq, according to a new book by a top Bush administration diplomat.
Among the topics at the talks, Iran agreed not to fire at U.S. aircraft flying over Iran, and the United States wanted Iran to encourage Shiites to participate in forming a new government in Iraq, according to a report in The New York Times about the book.
Osama Bin Laden's Will: $29 Million That Should Be Spent On 'Jihad'
A handwritten will by Osama bin Laden said he had a fortune of "about 29 million dollars" and that most of it should be spent "on Jihad," according to documents released by the U.S. government on Tuesday.
The will was among more than 100 documents made public by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The materials were captured when Navy SEALs killed the al-Qaida leader in a May 1, 2011, raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. This is the second batch of documents that has been made public. The first was released last May.
Thousands march in London against nuclear weapons
Thousands have marched through London to oppose the renewal of Britain's Trident nuclear weapons system in what demonstrators describe as the biggest such rally in a generation.
