Howard accused of war crimes over Iraq troop deployment

A legal brief has been sent to the International Criminal Court (ICC) alleging former prime minister John Howard committed a war crime by sending troops to Iraq.

"We have produced a 52-page brief of evidence which states to the chief prosecutor of the criminal court that we allege John Howard's actions are war crimes under article 8 of the Rome Statute," he said.

A similar brief has been sent by a group from the United Kingdom regarding former prime minister Tony Blair. The United States is not a signatory to the court.

WHO Study Sought On Palestinian Children Affected By Conflict

Children are the worst affected by the Israeli attacks on Palestine, with 60 percent of them being anemic.

High on the meeting's agenda were attacks against health staff and ambulances in Palestine. The statement said that 38 health workers had died in the line of duty in the occupied territory while 2,149 ambulances were blocked entry. Ambulances were the main target of the Israeli forces with 36 vehicles vandalized and 143 damaged.

Bush also said in the interview that he had been aware of several meetings his national security advisers held to discuss "enhanced interrogation" methods.

Surely he is aware of the U.S. commitment to international treaties barring "cruel and inhumane" treatment of prisoners.
