"The more aggressively we use our power to intimidate our foes, the more foes we create and the more we validate terrorism as the only effective weapon of the powerless against the powerful." - John Brady Kiesling

Israel is a touchy subject. If anyone dares to comment on the actions of the Israeli government he or she is immediately labeled as anti-Semitic. Well, I wonder how the thousands of Jewish people and Israelis who criticize the actions of the Israeli government feel about that?

Let’s set something straight from the start, before anyone labels this site as an anti-Semitic site. We are addressing the actions of a government, not of a people, religion, culture or race. Do not even think about labeling this site as anything more than a source of information.

The actions of the Israeli government are not the result of a mass unified conspiracy of every Jewish person on the planet. Jewish people should not be held responsible for the actions of Israel. Likewise Islamic people should not be held responsible for the actions of the radical Islamic terrorists.

The main problem with this topic is that Israel is permitted to continue to practice the same generalization that they accuse the rest of their critics of doing. They hold every Palestinian responsible for the actions of the radical minority. Collective punishment is a violation of the Geneva Convention and is considered a war crime, yet the Bush administration turns a blind eye to this and actually finances this with their $ billions in aid.

The News Entertainment Networks do not report any of the violent actions of the Israelis yet they lead their news report every time a Palestinian commits an act of terror. Fox News has even changed the term “suicide bombing” to “homicide bombing” at the behest of the Sharon apartheid government. Oddly enough Israeli newspapers such as Ha’aretz report these stories in detail.

Why has TvNewsLies decided to cover these stories? The News Entertainment Networks cover every story when it comes to the violent actions of the Palestinians. The coverage is completely one sided. No violent actions of the Israelis are ever discussed or criticized. Americans have to turn to Canadian or British publications in order to find out the truth about these stories. We feel that this issue is the single biggest contributor to the tensions in the Middle East. The Arab world is very aware and very angry at the fact that the American public is blind to the hypocrisy of the US Government in regards to Middle East Policy

Here is proof of American news bias when it comes to Israel: Which deaths matter? - Study shows Chronicle downplays Palestinian fatalities - THE SAN FRANCISCO Chronicle is 20 times more likely to report on the deaths of Israeli children killed in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict than it is to cover Palestinian children's deaths, a new study shows.

TVNL observation:

FOX hypocrisy: On their home page:
•Homicide Bombings Kill 366 in 32 Months
•Helicopter Attacks Highlight Targeted Killings Policy

When Israeli rockets fired into crowded streets in residential neighborhoods kill women and 3 year old children it is called “Targeted Killing!” A policy of killing is OK for Israel? And you want to know why Arabs want to kill us for supporting and justifyng this?

Note: The small fonts indicate older stories. We will continue to list older links so that this page can be used as a historical reference.

For organizational purposes we have created separate pages for individual topics. This section was started in early May, 2003. Historical references may be added in the future.

TVNL Predicts: 26-May-2003 - The peace agreement reached is a coordinated effort to create great PR for George Bush’s reelection. The agreement will drag on until the election and then things will fall apart. There is also a possibility of having a zillion incidents occur to slow things down until then. After the election the issue of settlements will arise again. The US will then back settlements. In the mean time the US will continue along with Sharon’s (and PNAC’s) desire to remap the region. Iran, Syria and perhaps Saudi Arabia as well. Copy this quote and put a date on it!  Just a thought;-)

  • The Israel You Don’t See on the News - So I ask all of the blind supporters of Israel this question: If Israeli news media clearly and openly takes part in complete government censorship, how can you possibly trust them and how can you logically dismiss news and information that contradicts their claims?
  • America's one-eyed view of war: Stars, stripes, and the Star of David - There are two sides to every conflict - unless you rely on the US media for information about the battle in Lebanon. Viewers have been fed a diet of partisan coverage which treats Israel as the good guys and their Hizbollah enemy as the incarnation of evil. Andrew Gumbel reports from Los Angeles
  • Israelis stunned by TV indictment from within - A documentary series by a respected newsreader delivers a damning  assault on the settler movement. - Often described as Israel's Walter Cronkite, 72-year-old Haim Yavin has fronted state television's evening news bulletins since 1968, cultivating a neutral image that put him, for most Israelis, at the symbolic heart of the national consensus. - The documentary dwells on the machinery of occupation - the roadblocks, fences, walls, settler roads and curfews - set up to support and defend the settlements. - In Hebron, where the army has helped a few hundred fundamentalist settlers seize the heart of a Palestinian city, a soldier tells Yavin that settlers are inciting him to shoot and kill Palestinian children.
  • Israel and Palestine, Choosing Sides - The most monumental cover-up in media history may be the one I’m about to describe. In my entire experience with American journalism, I have never found anything as extreme, sustained, and omnipresent. - When I listened to news reports on this issue, I noticed that I was hearing a great deal about Israelis and very little about Palestinians. - The more I looked into all this, the more it seemed that I had stumbled onto a cover-up that quite possibly dwarfed anything I had seen before.
  • The Politics of Indignity - When proud people feel like afterthoughts they get angry, whether in restive Iraq or rural America. And some get violent - Harvard professor Jessica Stern, in her wise and thorough new book “Terror in the Name of God,” argues that humiliation is a core motive for many who join violent movements around the world. They start out feeling humiliated, enraged that they are viewed by some Other as second class,” Stern concludes. “They take on new identities as martyrs on behalf of a purported spiritual cause. The spiritually perplexed learn to focus on action. The weak become strong. The selfish become altruists, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice of their lives in the belief that their deaths will serve the public good. Rage turns to conviction.” - TVNL Comment: This applies most accurately to the Palestinians.
  • Israel's 'Mr. TV' Faults Settlements in Documentary - Now 72, Mr. Yavin, known here as "Mr. TV," is about to deliver a documentary about Israel's settlements in the West Bank that is pessimistic, angry and intensely personal. - "Since 1967, we have been brutal conquerors, occupiers, suppressing another people," he says in the documentary, "Yoman Masa,"' ("Diary of a Journey"), which he filmed by himself, with a hand-held video camera and without a crew, in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over the last two and a half years. - He films a soldier who complains that the settlers keep pressing him to shoot Palestinian children.
  • Bush's Israeli Lobby Advisors! - It is very important to know the identity of these pro-Israeli officials within the administration in order to understand who is behind this war-mongering and realizing that is serving Israeli interests, not American interests.
  • Second world press freedom ranking - 2003 Index - United States and Israel singled out for actions beyond their borders - Reporters Without Borders is publishing its second world press freedom ranking. As in 2002, the most catastrophic situation is to be found in Asia, especially North Korea, Burma and Laos. Second from last in the ranking, Cuba is today the world's biggest prison for journalists. The United States and Italy were given relatively low rankings. - Special situation of the United States and Israel The ranking distinguishes behaviour at home and abroad in the cases of the United States and Israel. They are ranked in 31st and 44th positions respectively as regards respect for freedom of expression on their own territory, but they fall to the 135th and 146th positions as regards behaviour beyond their borders. - The Israeli army's repeated abuses against journalists in the occupied territories and the US army's responsibility in the death of several reporters during the war in Iraq constitute unacceptable behaviour by two nations that never stop stressing their commitment to freedom of expression.
  • EXAMPLES OF HATE SPEECH - "We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population." Israel Koenig, "The Koenig Memorandum"
  • Refuseniks - Israeli soldiers with a conscience.
  • Foreign Secretary was target for assassination by Zionist groups - TVNL predicts: This won’t be reported on FOX!
  • US and Israel look set to embrace assassination - Targeted killings, worldwide, may be developing as the policy option of choice
  • Academic Freedom Under Assault in Israel - The Dean, the President, and the Historiography of 1948 Palestine
  • Israel's Grand Design: Leaders Crave Area from Egypt to Iraq
  • Israel's arms industry cashes in on new markets, new technologies - TVNL asks: If Israel can afford to sell it’s arms then why do our tax dollars to towards their defence budget?
  • Israel seeks formal "Jewish" state label - TVNL comments: How does this fir in with the concept of Democracy?
  • Israel discovers that democracy is not an Israeli value - For obvious strategic reasons, Israel and its uncritical supporters in the United States have long focused on presenting Israel as the sole bastion of democracy in the Middle East in order to attract continued political, military, and economic support from Western democracies by evoking a "people like us" sense of common identity and values.
  • Israel, the Palestinians, Sharon, Arafat and George W. Bush - After ignoring the unending bloodshed between Israel and the Palestinians for the first two years of his administration, Bush is being sent out by Karl Rove to burnish up his appearance as a "statesman." Rove decided, what with all the serial lying about Iraq emerging and all, it was time for George to appear to care about the thousands of Israelis and Palestinians killed and injured during the course of his administration.
  • Fears Sharon may be a target of Jewish extremists - Jewish settlers living on Arab land forcibly seized in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war believe that only Jews have the right to live in the biblical land of Israel, defined as everything between the River Jordan and the Mediterranean Sea. - TVNL comment: Religion is supposed to be a good thing. Atheists are described by religions people as bad people yet it is the religious people that spew more hatred, have less tollerance and kill more innocent people than any other group history. More deaths can be linked to religion than any other single cause in the history of humanity.
  • Source, quoting Bush: 'We have a problem with Sharon' - TVNL comment: When Sharon was elected I said to all of my friends that we would not see peace in the Mid East while he is in charge. The peace process has gone to hell with Sharon at the helm. Bush and PNAC are following his example of how to be a dictator. See where is is getting us?
  • Is Sharon to blame? Israelis wonder - PM's bid to kill Hamas leader condemned - It is question rarely asked by Israel's Jews, and almost never in public. But yesterday one member of the Israeli parliament, Roman Bronfman, cautiously wondered if the prime minister, Ariel Sharon, did not have Jewish blood on his hands. - TVNL comment: Maybe the Israelis heard me!
  • Belgian green light for lawsuit against Israeli general - A Belgian court ruled that a lawsuit brought against an Israeli general for alleged crimes against humanity can go to trial.
  • Israel soldier made woman drink cleaning fluid-court - The Israeli army has charged a female soldier with forcing a Palestinian woman at a checkpoint to drink the cleaning fluid she was carrying
  • IAF Chief: We hit Hamas chief knowing civilians were near - Innocent Palestinian civilians have been killed in 30 percent of the targeted assassinations carried out by the army on Palestinian militants - TVNL comment: Hey FOX News, I must have missed this little fact during your broadcasts. Where can I get some transcripts of the report that told us of this little fact?
  • Former Israeli soldiers return to occupied territories to give aid - Many are disturbed by what they see while in uniform. But only a handful do what Moti Kimtel has done - return as aid workers. - The former conscript says that while he often felt "a slight guilt or doubt" while in uniform, he followed orders because of "peer pressure". It was only afterwards, when he was at university with a conscientious objector, or refusenik, that he considered joining a peace movement.
  • Israel Admits Running Secret Jail - Prisoners say they are blindfolded and kept in black, windowless cells. When they ask where they are, they are told: ``On the moon.'' - TVNL asks: If Saddam did this what would Americans say?
  • How much does America pay for supporting the Israelis? - Increasingly, however, official US aid has been hidden or redefined. Camouflage has been necessary. The budgeted aid loomed embarrassingly large as part of total US foreign aid.
  • Israel levels symbolic mosque - Some Muslim protestors were arrested after scuffles An Israeli demolition squad has smashed the foundations of a mosque being built near the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth - the largest Christian church in the Middle East. - TVNL asks: Can you imagine if a Jewish temple was demolished by a Muslim nation? Can you imagine how this would be covered by the press?
  • Sharon might be arrested in Norway - RV thinks Sharon is guilty of a range of war crimes through his history as Israel's leader and that as such, he should be arrested when he comes to Norway on 16 July. - The political party has sent a formal request for Sharon to be arrested to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
  • 'Our other war' in Jerusalem - "If we ever find a solution to the Palestinian problem, we will immediately be faced with the crisis of defining ourselves. After more than 50 years, we still haven't decided whether we are a democracy or a theocracy."
  • What Israel does to Palestine, we are doing to Iraq - Want to criticise the Israelis for shooting stone-throwers in Gaza? The US does the same in Falujah - TVNL comment: We said from the beginning that Bush/PNAC are modeling US policy after Ariel Sharon and as each day goes by we are proven right.
  • Sharon and the media - When I was first based in the Middle East as a BBC correspondent 30 years ago, Israel was rightly proud of its position as the only country in the region from where journalists could report freely. Not any more. Under the Sharon government intimidation of reporters deemed "unfriendly" to Israel is routine and sanctioned by the government
  • Deep is the crisis - The Israeli crisis is deeper than its seems. We're talking about a major-league mess which has been going on for years, eroding the basic principles of public and private behavior and bringing this light-unto-the-nations country very close to the style of a Third World state. Apart from a few years of relative economic and political relief, the national crisis has grown worse with every mismanaged government that has come to power. Things have gone downhill because of contempt for the law, in which our elected public officials now lead the way.
  • Israel imposes 'racist' marriage law - Israel's Parliament has passed a law preventing Palestinians who marry Israelis from living in Israel. The move was denounced by human rights organisations as racist, undemocratic and discriminatory.
  • UN blasts Israeli marriage law - The Geneva-based Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination unanimously approved a resolution saying the Israeli law violated an international human rights treaty.
  • Despite "Republican Revolution," Congress Shows It's Still Israeli-Occupied Territory - Defense Budget Bulging With Ill-Concealed Israeli Perks
  • Enough proof exists to indict PM Sharon - Two investigations being conducted simultaneously against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon stand at varying stages of evidence collection, but according to some interpretations, charges could already be filed against individuals involved in both cases - including the prime minister.
  • Hamas Calls Bush 'Islam's Biggest Enemy' - A similar call was issued by one of the charities named by the U.S. government, the Sanabel Endowment for Relief and Development, which denied having links to Hamas and expressed "astonishment at the unjustified" freeze.
  • U.S. checking possibility of pumping oil from northern Iraq to Haifa, via Jordan - In response to rumors about the possible Kirkuk-Mosul-Haifa pipeline, Turkey has warned Israel that it would regard this development as a serious blow to Turkish-Israeli relations.
  • Israeli army to demolish Rachel Corrie Peace Center - The Rachel Corrie Peace Center in East Jerusalem is faced with the same fate that befell its namesake — to be crushed under the wheels of a bulldozer. - Please protest this outrage by contacting the U.S. State Department, your representatives in the Senate and Congress, and the U.S. Consulate General, Jerusalem, at 18 Agron Road, Jerusalem 94190 / 27 Nablus Road, Jerusalem 94190;PHONE: 972-2-6227230 /972-2-6253288;FAX: 972-2-6259270.
  • US move against Hamas funding hits dialysis crackdown cuts off income to kidney failure unit - Hospital’s dialysis department, or face certain death. - The United States government closed down a US-based Arab association that was financed by an American citizen of Palestinian origin, Hussein Tabari. Tabari has been transferring $10,000 monthly to the dialysis section through the association since 1996.
  • Palestinian crusader wins peace prize - Hanan Ashrawi, the outspoken advocate for the Palestinian cause, has won the 2003 Sydney Peace Prize. - However, the jury's choice, which was unanimous, has already drawn heated opposition from the Jewish community.
  • French ambassador calls Israel 'paranoid' and Sharon 'a lout' - Limor Livnat, Israel's education minister, said the remarks attributed to Gerard Araud were "very grave". If true, she said, Israel should refuse to accept his letter of accreditation. - TVNL Comment: The media and the world will spin this as outrage. They will concentrate on the fact that someone said something bad about Israel but they should examine what was said instead. Regardless of how accurate the comment was nobody is allowed to say anything negative about Israel.
  • Jewish peace winner attacks Israel - Jewish historian Reuven Moskovitz, who was awarded a prestigious peace prize, fired a broadside at Israel during his acceptance speech. - "All Israel's governing politicians have transformed the lives of the Palestinian people into an intolerable hell with their sanctions and expulsions," - Moskovitz, 75, said the acts of violence by young Palestinians and fanatics could not be justified, but he said they were often a result of hopelessness and indignation.
  • Israel and Hezbollah trade fire on northern border - Israel Air Force fighter jets attacked a Hezbollah base in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, destroying the artillery position which hours earlier had fired anti-aircraft shells in the western section of Israel's northern border. - TVNL Comment: It is OK for the US and Israel to invade the air space of a soverign nation and drop bombs on them. If any other country in the world did this there would be outrage!
  • Troops out call as Barak seeks power - THE most decorated military officer in Israeli history is steeling himself for his most arduous campaign yet. Ehud Barak is poised to challenge his long-time foe Ariel Sharon, promising to withdraw Israeli troops from the occupied territories.
  • Israeli agents accused of creating fake al-Qaeda cell - A senior Palestinian security official says his services have uncovered an Israeli plot to create a fake al-Qaeda cell in the Gaza Strip, a charge Israel has dismissed as absurd. - The head of preventive security in Gaza, Rashid Abu Shbak, said Israeli agents posing as operatives of al-Qaeda recruited Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.- "Over the past nine months we've been investigating eight [such] cases," Mr Abu Shbak said.
  • Israel slams UN vote on Arafat - Israel slammed as "meaningless" a UN General Assembly resolution passed yesterday urging it not to "remove" Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from the West Bank, but the Palestinians rejoiced at the international "slap" at the Jewish state. The resolution was presented to an emergency session of the assembly after the US vetoed a similar measure this week at the UN Security Council, saying it did not take into account Palestinian militant groups that have attacked Israel. It passed 133-4 with 15 abstentions, including Australia. - TVNL Comment: Israel and the US can continue to defy the rest of the planet. As long as you are a friend of the US you can break any law that you want! This is called hypocricy!
  • Why Sharon is dangerous - Why? Because he doesn't even try to keep his promise of peace, and has made his promise of security worthless. Because he is a bloody adventurer who scoffs at dangers, even if you pay the price. Because this week he revived the incitement against the left over a memorandum of understanding that was drafted together with senior Palestinian figures. Because the moves of an especially skilled tactician are especially dangerous. - Plenty of familiar reasons for - Sharon being a political ticking bomb spring immediately to mind. Here are several more that occur upon second, and third, thought.
  • Listening to Mahathir - “The Europeans killed 6 million Jews out of 12 million. But today the Jews rule this world by proxy: They get others to fight and die for them." So said Mahathir Mohamad, the prime minister of Malaysia, at an Islamic summit meeting last week. The White House promptly denounced his "hate-filled remarks." - Indeed, those remarks were inexcusable. But they were also calculated — for Mr. Mahathir is a cagey politician, who is neither ignorant nor foolish. And to understand why he made those remarks is to realize how badly things are going for U.S. foreign policy. - It's worth reading the rest of last week's speech, beyond the offensive 28 words. Most of it is criticism directed at other Muslims, clerics in particular. - And bear in mind that Mr. Mahathir's remarks were written before the world learned about the views of Lt. Gen. William "My God Is Bigger Than Yours" Boykin. By making it clear that he sees nothing wrong with giving an important post in the war on terror to someone who believes, and says openly, that Allah is a false idol
  • U.S. warns against traveling to Israel - The State Department yesterday warned U.S. citizens to avoid Israel because of the risk of terror attacks. - TVNL Asks: Did you hear aboit this warning? We hear about every orange alert, don’t we?
  • Cover-Up Alleged in Probe of USS Liberty - A former Navy attorney who helped lead the military investigation of the 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty that killed 34 American servicemen says former President Lyndon Johnson and his defense secretary, Robert McNamara, ordered that the inquiry conclude the incident was an accident. - In a signed affidavit released at a Capitol Hill news conference, retired Capt. Ward Boston said Johnson and McNamara told those heading the Navy's inquiry to "conclude that the attack was a case of 'mistaken identity' despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary."
  • Sharon faces police questioning - Israel's Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, is being questioned by police officers in connection with his family's financial affairs. - The first is the way in which Ariel Sharon and his two sons, Omri and Gilad, paid back around $1m of illegal campaign contributions dating back to his Likud leadership campaign in 1999. - The second focuses on the nature of the business relationship between Mr Sharon's younger son, Gilad, and an Israeli businessman, David Appel.
  • Sharon under fire by home officials - Ministers in Sharon's own cabinet sprung to the defence of chief of staff Moshe Ya'alon Thursday, with several of them, including Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and Justice Minister Tommy Lapid, saying Israel should "significantly broaden" measures to improve the living conditions of the Palestinians and avoid anarchy. - The row between Sharon and Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz on the one hand and Ya'alon on the other hand erupted after the army chief held an off-the-record background briefing to Israel's leading journalists Tuesday night. - In the briefing he said the severe restrictions on the movement of Palestinians increased their hatred for Israel and strengthened militant organizations. - He also said Israeli threats to expel Yasser Arafat had increased the Palestinian president's popularity and that Israel bore part of the blame of former Palestinian Premier Mahmoud Abbas' resignation in early September after only four months in office. - Israel took only "scanty" relief measures to help Abbas, he said.
  • Is Israel losing its army? - With pilots refusing to attack Palestine, the top brass briefing against hard-line policies and outrage at conscription, the Israeli army is at crisis point.
  • EU poll: Israel 'biggest threat' to world peace - U.S. beats out 'axis of evil' in causing global instability - Over half of Europeans think Israel poses the "biggest threat to world peace," according to a controversial poll commissioned by the European Commission. - The same survey has the United States beating out Iran, Iraq and North Korea – the trio dubbed the "axis of evil" by President George W. Bush – as well as Afghanistan in a ranking of what countries contribute most to world instability.
  • U.S. will seek $2.22 bln military aid for Israel - The increase is in line with a 1990s agreement which reduces economic assistance to Israel by $120 million a year while adding $60 million a year to the military component of the package, the largest Washington gives to any country. - Apart from the annual military and economic assistance, the United States is also guaranteeing international loans by Israel up to an amount of $9 billion over three years. - The $9 billion is liable to deductions equivalent to the Israeli government's spending on settlements in the Palestinian territories but the United States has given Israel clearance to start borrowing before deciding how much it will deduct.
  • In rare Jewish appearance, George Soros - says Jews and Israel cause anti-Semitism - When asked about anti-Semitism in Europe, Soros, who is Jewish, said European anti-Semitism is the result of the policies of Israel and the United States. - “There is a resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe. The policies of the Bush administration and the Sharon administration contribute to that,” Soros said. “It’s not specifically anti-Semitism, but it does manifest itself in anti-Semitism as well. I’m critical of those policies.” - “If we change that direction, then anti-Semitism also will diminish,” he said. “I can’t see how one could confront it directly.” - That is a point made by Israel’s most vociferous critics, whom some Jewish activists charge with using anti-Zionism as a guise for anti-Semitism.
  • Bullied into silence on Israel: There is no freedom of speech for Conrad Black's commentators - There are few more uncomfortable places for a foreign correspondent to be posted than Israel. Opinions are so polarised that it is almost impossible to write a line on the conflict without outraging someone. - Since the second intifada exploded last October, as criticism of Israel has escalated and casualties mounted towards the 400 mark, this fact has been brought home especially to those who deal sympathetically with the plight of the Palestinians. All have found themselves deluged with complaints, which not infrequently include innuendoes - or outright accusations - of anti-semitism.
  • Israeli Army Engaged in Fight Over Its Soul - Doubts, Criticism of Tactics Increasingly Coming From Within - Officers and soldiers have begun publicly criticizing specific tactics that they consider dehumanizing to both their own troops and Palestinians. - Nearly 600 members of the armed forces have signed statements refusing to serve in the Palestinian territories. Active-duty and reserve personnel are criticizing the military in public. Parents of soldiers are speaking out as well, complaining that the protection of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza Strip is not worth the loss of their sons and daughters.
  • Patrick Seale: Sharon has ignited the fire of anti-Semitism - Is a new wave of anti-Semitism sweeping the world? Are Jews once again in danger of becoming the targets of irrational hate and persecution as they were under the Nazis? Is the deadly virus which caused the Holocaust – that unfathomable and eternal stain on the conscience and history of Europe – beginning to reappear? - But are Jews today truly facing anti-Semitism – that is to say hatred of Jews because they are Jewsor is it something else? Is it not rather a response – highly critical in the case of Europeans, enraged and vengeful on the part of many Arabs and Muslims – to the violence which Sharon is daily inflicting on Palestinians?
  • India, Israel Set Record Of Violating UN Resolutions - Former Foreign Secretary Niaz A. Naik said Friday that India and Israel have set a record of vilating the United Nations' Resolutions in contemporary world. - To another question, he said, continued obstinacy on part of Israel will increase the amount of international pressure against it.
  • Israel's anti-Semitism - The Israeli right stands guilty of more than hypocrisy when they accuse others of being anti-Semitic, writes Ibrahim Nafie - Israel and Zionist organisations are becoming increasingly dependent upon the charge of "anti- Semitism" as a political weapon. Individuals and organisations, indeed entire nations and societies, have found themselves so besmirched.
  • Passing the Sanctions Bill - US Congress Does Israel's Bidding, Again - But sanctions? Did the US impose sanctions on Israel in 1982 when the Israeli army invaded Lebanon and slaughtered as many as 20,000 people, mostly civilians? The invasion was unprovoked. As the Israeli military historian, Ze'ev Schiff, pointed out in his book Green Light Lebanon, the border had been quiet for nearly a year. In the end, Israel had to stage an incident to create the necessary pretext for the attack, which was planned and led by none other than Ariel Sharon; just as the US was forced to stage an incident in the Gulf of Tonkin to â¤justify" the planned massive US bombing of North Viet Nam in the 1960s; and just as Adolf Hitler was compelled to stage a border incident as a pretext for his historic invasion of Poland in September 1939. All similar cases.
  • Ethnic cleansing on the Jordan River - The euphemisms roll off of his tongue. "It's not genocide; it's transfer." Czechoslovakia and Poland did it to Germans after World War II. Forcing nearly 5 million Arabs from their homes is OK because "Jews are not Nazis."
  • Israel's military tactics breeding hatred and terror - In the nine months before the intifada only one Israeli was killed as a result of terror. It did not happen because the Shin Bet was better.
  • Indymedia Israel investigated again, site shut down - The Israeli company who provided us with space on their server (Actcom) has recieved very threatening phone calls to their homes and offices in regard to a cartoon by Brazilian cartoonist Latuff showing Sharon and Hitler kissing. Further, a police investigation has been started against us in regard to this cartoon, accusing us of incitement. - TVNL Comment: Israel is supposed to be a democracy. In a democracy freedom of expression and freedom of the press are supposed to be protected.
  • 'Scrap nuclear arms' Israel urged - The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog has urged Israel to surrender its alleged nuclear weapons in order to further peace in the Middle East. - "Frankly, I am not happy with the status quo, because I see a lot of frustration in the Middle East due to Israel's sitting on nuclear weapons or [its] nuclear weapons capability, while other parties in the Middle East are committed to the Non-Proliferation Treaty," he said. - TVNL Comment: It is only a matter of time before he is accused of anti-semitism!
  • Nuclear watchdog 'ignores Israel' - Arab states have accused the United Nations nuclear watchdog of holding back from criticising Israel. - Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said: "What surprises us is that at a time when the International Atomic Energy Agency is intensifying its efforts and monitoring (NPT) member countries... we see that it continues to ignore the rejection of Israel in not joining the treaty.
  • Israel planned to kill Saddam - Israel has revealed there was a plan to assassinate Saddam Hussein in 1992, but the operation was called off after a training accident. - TVNL Comment: Assassinating a leader of a sovereign nation is a crime. It violates international law. Once again Israel shows the world that together with the United States it does not follow international law. Are we still asking why the US and Israel are hated among the Mideast Arab nations?
  • Sharon's War on Palestinian Kids - "Don't Think About the Children" - Shooting to kill at children? In response, the IDF spokesman did not deny it: "The IDF does not elaborate on the rules of engagement.
  • Israel's Threat To World Peace - "Libya has never been a threat to the United States, and for that matter, Iraq was never a threat to the United States. The only threat Iraq or Libya posed was a threat to Israel's dominance of nuclear weapons in the Middle East."
  • Israeli MP proposes 'ethnic cleansing' - A member of the Israeli parliament has proposed “massive ethnic cleansing” of non-Jews in Palestine-Israel as a “final solution” of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. - Uzi Cohen, a member of Ariel Sharon’s right-wing Likud party and a deputy in the Knesset, told Israeli public radio on Sunday there was widespread support in Israel for “the idea of ethnic cleansing”. - “In case they don’t leave, plans would have to be drawn up to expel them by force.”
  • Israel jails 'conscientious objectors' - A military tribunal has sentenced five young Israelis to a year in prison for refusing to serve in the occupied Palestinian territories, one of those convicted says. - "We did not expect anything else from the tribunal of an Army which occupies and oppresses a whole people and from a regime which has forgotten the meaning of democracy," Matar said.
