Trump files for extension of tax return

President Trump filed for an extension on his 2017 tax returns, the White House said Tuesday.

Trump, who took advantage of the extension last year as well, will now have until October to file his taxes with the Internal Revenue Service.

Presidents are just like every other taxpayer and must file taxes by the deadline.

“The President filed an extension for his 2017 tax return, as do many Americans with complex returns,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the Daily News. “He will file his tax return by the extension deadline of Oct. 15, 2018.”
