Israel on Monday announced plans for 800 Jewish settler homes in the occupied West Bank, potentially risking the ire of incoming President-elect Joe Biden.

Mr Biden, who takes office on January 20, has been critical of Israel’s settlement policies in the past, with the announcement by Israel today reportedly an attempt to solidify expansion plans before his inauguration.
“Israel’s government’s steady and systematic process of expanding settlements, legalizing outposts, seizing land, is eroding in my view the prospect of a two-state solution,” Mr Biden previously told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in 2016.
