Neighbors reacted with shock after six people, four of them children, were fatally shot in a Houston suburb Wednesday in what police described as a domestic dispute.
Neighbors said they were making dinner when they heard gunshots and then ambulance after ambulance rush to their street.
"It's really sad because they were my best friends since first grade," said Cassidy Ramirez.
A 15-year-old girl who was wounded in the shooting identified the suspected gunman and warned deputies that he planned to kill more people at another relative's home. She directed deputies to the alleged shooter's location, said Assistant Chief Deputy Constable Mark Herman of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
A standoff ensued when deputies cornered the man in a cul-de-sac in a nearby neighborhood. He surrendered after three hours.
